Privacy & Cookies Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This page explains, in plain English, what information Cinch Telecoms collects when you use cinchtelecoms.com, what we do with it, and the choices and rights you have under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Cinch Telecoms is a business telecoms provider based in Oxfordshire, serving customers across the UK. For anything on this page β questions, corrections, or data requests β contact us at support@cinchtelecoms.com or on 01869 228710. We are the "data controller" for the information described below.
What we collect when you contact us
Our quote and contact forms ask for the details we need to respond to your enquiry. Depending on the form, that can include:
- your name and business name
- your email address and/or phone number
- your postcode and address (for broadband availability checks)
- which services you're interested in, business size, and anything you write in the message box
We use this information solely to answer your enquiry and prepare your quote β the legal basis is taking steps you've asked for before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We do not sell your details or use them for third-party marketing.
Where your enquiry goes
When you submit a form, your details are sent over an encrypted connection and delivered by Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Graph) as an email to our support mailbox. Microsoft processes that email on our behalf as our email provider. Your enquiry is then handled by our team in the UK.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept in our support mailbox for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. If you become a customer, the details move into our normal customer records. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner at any time.
Analytics β only if you say yes
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this site (which sections get read, where people click, and anonymised session replays) so we can improve it. Clarity does not run by default: it loads only after you press Accept on our cookie banner. If you press Decline β or simply ignore the banner β no analytics load and no analytics cookies are set. You can read how Microsoft handles this data in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
The consent setting itself
Your Accept/Decline choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under
the key cinch-consent. It stays until you clear it β you can
change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser
settings (the banner will then ask again on your next visit).
Other services this site uses
- Postcode checking β if you use the broadband availability form, the postcode you type is sent to postcodes.io, an open UK postcode service, purely to validate it. No other personal details are sent with it.
- Fonts β our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches a font, your IP address is visible to Google, as with any web resource.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct it if it's wrong
- delete it ("right to be forgotten")
- restrict or object to how we use it
- provide it to you in a portable format
Email support@cinchtelecoms.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
